Install guide

Install the verified Astramar Mac beta.

Install from this website’s verified download (or the Mac App Store when that channel opens). You do not need developer tools or source code.

Public Mac and CLI channels are open. Get the Mac app (version 1.0, build 1) from Availability. Install Astramar CLI with brew install seasoup-io/astramar-tap/astramar (preferred) or the optional DMG under #cli-download. This cohort ends 18 November 2026, 00:00 UTC. Reinstalling the Mac app does not start a new 90 days. The Astramar.app Homebrew cask stays closed.

Requirements

  • macOS 26.4 or newer.
  • Accessibility permission if you want automatic paste or supported direct insertion.
  • Notification permission only if you want banners for scheduled triggers.

Where to get Astramar

  • Verified Mac DMG: the public path from this website’s Availability page.
  • Astramar CLI (preferred): brew install seasoup-io/astramar-tap/astramar, then astramar doctor.
  • Astramar CLI (without Homebrew): optional companion DMG from Availability (#cli-download). Mount, copy astramar to ~/bin, then run astramar doctor.
  • Mac App Store: a future install and billing path when Apple distribution is available.
  • Not for everyday use: source code archives or unsigned app bundles from elsewhere. The Astramar.app Homebrew cask is not open.

Direct-install steps

  1. Download from the official Astramar page only when it shows a verified release.
  2. Confirm the published version matches what you expect.
  3. Open the DMG and drag Astramar to Applications, or unzip the verified ZIP and move the app to Applications.
  4. Launch from Applications, not from Downloads or a temporary mount.
  5. Grant Accessibility only when you want automatic insertion.
  6. Review the starter guide, then import an existing library if you already have one.

Updates

Verified direct installs currently update by installing a newer package when one is published. Mac App Store installs (when available) update through the App Store. Your phrase library lives separately from the app and should remain available across ordinary updates.

Removing Astramar

Deleting the app does not automatically wipe your phrase library. Export anything important first, then follow the uninstall guidance in the documentation.

Permissions on first launch

Astramar explains why a permission is requested and keeps clipboard-only delivery available when automatic insertion is off. Declining a permission does not erase your library and does not require AI.
