How DesktopOddities is distributed
DesktopOddities is a macOS app distributed as a Developer ID signed, Apple notarized, stapled, and Gatekeeper-verified direct download. Signing and notarization credentials stay out of the public repository and website package.
The current public Mac download is published on the DesktopOddities product page and binds to the verified release record at /oddities/desktop-release.json. Source archives, unsigned local builds, and AirDrop test zips are not customer installers. A revoked or disabled release record can close the CTA without rewriting every page.
How PocketOddities and PlaygroundOddities are distributed
PocketOddities is the iPhone-facing experience. PlaygroundOddities is the play-first iPad experience inside the same universal binary. Acquisition, when approved, uses one App Store listing, not a second Playground store product.
App Store Connect configuration alone does not mean Available. Public Apple destinations publish only after an approved listing passes the Apple availability adapter. TestFlight and App Store states are kept separate when either is authorized.
Data and privacy
Oddities experiences keep ambient character placement and related preferences on the user’s device. Company-wide Privacy Policy terms still apply on this website.
This Trust Center does not claim a permanent local-only architecture after future account or sync work. Today’s public surface does not offer Oddities accounts or SeaSoup-hosted Oddities libraries.
Categories we distinguish: data on device; data in the user’s Apple/iCloud environment if a future shipping build uses it; data processed by SeaSoup services if introduced; data processed by Apple or payment providers when commerce exists; and data not collected.
Permissions and capabilities
Permission copy comes from the shipping build inventory, not from roadmap wishes. PocketOddities App Store destinations remain unpublished, so this page does not invent a live iPhone permission matrix.
DesktopOddities customer-visible macOS permissions will be listed here from the shipping entitlement inventory as that inventory is published for customers. Until then, install via the verified Mac download and review prompts macOS shows at first use.
Accounts and purchases
Oddities accounts and purchases are not part of the public customer surface yet. This Trust Center does not describe token formats, webhook details, or anti-abuse internals.
When OIE-backed accounts and commerce become public and stable, this section will explain identity at a high level, that paid entitlement authority is not a local preference bit, and that SeaSoup does not store payment-card numbers when card processing is delegated to approved providers.
Updates and release verification
Desktop downloads, when open, bind to version, build, artifact identity, and checksum fields on the verified release record. Apple listings, when open, bind to an approved apps.apple.com destination.
Website Availability and Trust pages do not mint release truth. A revoked or disabled release record can close download CTAs without rewriting every page.
Accessibility
Oddities product pages aim for keyboard-reachable navigation and honest empty states. Operator accessibility leftovers remain tracked separately from this Trust summary.

For a suspected security issue, email [email protected] with subject Security issue until a dedicated security process is published. Security reports are not captured by ordinary website analytics content logging.
Do not send phrase libraries, private character state, credentials, or exploit proof-of-concept payloads in ordinary support mail. We do not publish internal incident channels on this page, and we do not promise response-time SLAs here. Temporary site availability notices do not change entitlement truth.
Current limitations
Public Desktop download and Apple store listing CTAs stay closed on this site until verified release/listing evidence passes the owning adapters. Marketplace and OddityDex may be empty until producer import. Character media and some operator accessibility work remain gated.
Not certified unless evidenced. Oddities and SeaSoup do not claim SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPAA, FedRAMP, or similar certifications on this page. We also do not claim “100% secure,” “unhackable,” or “never breached.” Concrete shipping controls beat slogans.
